During the field trip, one thing I knew would be plentiful is color. There was color found in the obvious places such as window frames painted to contrast with the wall and the sale I had seen at BP the week before. But then there was unexpected color. Knit rings in a tree, and colorful bands wrapped around poles. Even a woman wearing fuzzy pink slippers as shoes.

We call that the knit twit tree, and is part of a series of textile totems our art group did (jafagirls).
In regards to ideas for photos in the fall and winter, perhaps something that is poignant and reflects a sadness of summer being over. A bare tree, a pile of leaves, a dying plant such as a field of cornstalks, someone clutching a cardigan around them self.
You know, that might just be a good change of pace. Looking for sadness, coldness, and ways to show it. And it might even mimic the way I feel about the changing season. I love that we have variety in the seasons, but I am only happy when there is snow on the ground in winter. I love the snow. No snow = not so happy. Lots of not so happy in winter around here.
